Digital Village Services Platform
Bringing essential government services to rural Punjab through a unified digital platform and service centers.

Rural Punjab faced significant challenges in accessing government services, with citizens often traveling long distances to district headquarters for basic administrative tasks. Our Digital Village Services Platform addressed this by establishing service centers in villages and creating a unified digital interface.
The platform integrates 47 government services—from land records to pension applications—into a single digital ecosystem. Village-level entrepreneurs operate service centers, creating local employment while improving service accessibility.

What we implemented
- Village service centers with trained operators
- Unified digital platform for 47 government services
- Mobile app for citizens to track applications
- Real-time integration with government databases

What enabled success
- Local entrepreneur model for sustainability
- Multilingual interface in Punjabi and Hindi
- Offline capability for areas with poor connectivity
- Regular training and support for operators
The platform's success depended on building trust at the village level. We conducted extensive community outreach, demonstrated the platform's benefits, and ensured transparent pricing for services. This grassroots approach was crucial for adoption.

Within 18 months, the platform handled over 850,000 service requests, reducing average service delivery time from 15 days to 3 days. The model is now being replicated across other Indian states with adaptations for local contexts.
